The IEEE Week Inauguration Ceremony marked the beginning of a week-long celebration of technical innovation and educational events organized by the IEEE Student Branch STB30721 - V.P. Dr PG Hallakatti College of Eng & Tech. This formal event was aimed at setting the stage for a variety of activities planned throughout the IEEE Week, while also reflecting the values of academic excellence, community engagement, and technological advancement.
The event began with the welcoming of distinguished guests, including Ravi Hosmani, an assistant professor from KLE Institute of Technology, Hubballi, and senior IEEE members. Our guests were given a warm welcome by the organizing committee, and their presence elevated the importance of the event.
Following the welcome, the attendees enjoyed a heartfelt welcome song performance, which added a melodious note to the ceremony and set a positive tone for the proceedings. The performance was received warmly by the audience, creating a sense of unity and joy as we celebrated the beginning of IEEE Week.
Next, the event transitioned into the felicitation of guests. The distinguished guests were honored with tokens of appreciation, acknowledging their contribution to the fields of education and technology, as well as their support for the IEEE Student Branch. This moment of recognition underscored the event's commitment to celebrating those who contribute to the growth of students and the institution.
In keeping with tradition and symbolizing growth and sustainability, we conducted a plant-watering ceremony. This act represented the nurturing of knowledge, collaboration, and innovation, as well as the commitment to environmental consciousness, which is aligned with the IEEE mission of advancing technology for humanity.
The core of the inauguration involved speeches by our esteemed guests, starting with Ravi Hosmani sir, an assistant professor from KLE Institute of Technology, Hubballi. In his speech, he shared his insights on the evolving landscape of technology and education, inspiring students to embrace innovation and remain adaptable in their academic and professional journeys. His words resonated deeply with the audience, especially in light of the ever-changing tech industry.
This was followed by a motivating speech from Geetanjali Patil ma’am, the Vice Principal of BLDEACET. She emphasized the importance of events like IEEE Week in shaping the future of young engineers, highlighting the vital role that extracurricular activities and technical exposure play in holistic development. Her words served as a reminder of the college’s continued support for student-led initiatives and the pursuit of academic excellence.
The final speech of the ceremony was delivered by Veeresh Gonal sir, a senior IEEE member and an integral part of our student branch. He spoke about the history and significance of the IEEE organization and encouraged students to actively participate in IEEE activities, leveraging the platform to expand their technical knowledge and professional networks. His words inspired students to take full advantage of their IEEE membership and contribute to the larger technical community.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, where the organizing committee expressed their gratitude to all the guests, faculty members, and students for making the inauguration ceremony a grand success. Special thanks were extended to the guests for their invaluable time and inspiring words, and to the students who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth execution of the event.
