IEEE Milestone: IEEE Day Celebration at GMRT, Pune
Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope GMRT, Pune is Asia's largest Radio telescope and the world's top 6th Radio Telescope with the title of World's Largest GMRT.
IEEE PES SBC in collaboration with IEEE Pune Section Visited the GMRT observatory centre as part of the grand IEEE Celebration at one of the 3 IEEE Milestones in India. The visit included 70 students as per the limit set by the GMRT. As the part of celebration, we planned a field visit to GMRT wherein the scientists explained to us the whole GMRT system and its significance in Science and Society. We enjoyed the environment and the scientific vibe there.
Post this field visit, we also had a trek to the Narayangad, a fort near Pune. Our team showed a great spirit of teamwork by helping each other reach the peak of the hill. The view from the top of the hill was fabulous and mesmerizing.
On the way to GMRT and Back to college, we had pretty engaging activities on the bus like an introduction and quiz on GMRT and IEEE and distributing the Membership promotion kits to the active participants.
