The Commemorative Lecture on Michael Faraday on “Microwave Metamaterials for RCS Reduction: Current Trends & Future Prospects” was organized by IIEEE MTT-S SBC, Stanley College of Engineering and Technology for Women, Hyderabad at Department of ECE on October 4, 2024. Dr. K. Prahlada Rao, Associate Professor & Faculty Advisor IEEE MTT – S SBC delivered the welcome address. Dr. KedarNath Sahu, Professor &
Head, Department of ECE welcomed the speaker Dr. Nitish Kumar Gupta with a sapling. Dr. Nitish Kumar Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, BITS, Pilani, Hyderabad reminisced the immense contributions of the scientist Michael Faraday to the fields of science, technology and particularly electromagnetics. The resource person also explained the methods to reduce the radar cross section using metamaterials. The event was attended by faculty members of ECE department and III and V semester ECE students. The event concluded with the felicitation of the speaker by Dr. Kedar Nath Sahu and delivery of expression of thanks by Dr. K. Prahlada Rao.
