Panel discussion titled "Women in Engineering: IEEE's impact on their careers" featured diverse women in engineering, including Esmeralda Asurza, Briggite Perez and Jannina Romero, who highlighted the crucial role of technology and professional development in their careers. Esmeralda Asurza

Biography:

Esmeralda Asurza [M’16, SM’20] is an Electronic and Telecommunication Engineer from National University of South Lima (UNTELS) in Peru; Also she is a candidate for a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from National University of Callao with research focus in Control Systems and Internet of Things. She currently works as a Telecommunications Projects consultant, Cisco Networking Academy Instructor. a Professor of Networks and Communitacions at the Cibertec Institute, and Professor of Innovation in technology applications and industry 4.0 courses at the Toulouse Lautrec Institute.

In IEEE she is a graduate of the VoLT 2020 program, IEEE WIE Perú Chair 2019, ComSoc Perú Chair 2021-2022, Secretary of the Board ComSoc Latin America 2020-2021, Student Activities Committee Chair Perú 2023; and is currently part of the IEEE Latin America Region Membership Development Committee as the member responsible for WIE & YP Liaison, in the IEEE Communications Society Latinoamerica Region she is Leader of the Young Professionals committee.

Among his most significant awards are :

- Outstanding Professional Volunteer, IEEE Peru Section (2023)

Briggite Perez

Biography:

Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Tecnológica del Perú (UTP). Specialized in Operations and Logistics Management at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), Project Management and Administration at Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI), Integrated Management Systems at the Colegio de Ingenieros del Perú (CIP), and Supply Chain Management at Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI). Graduate of the Executive Talent Development Program from the PAD Business School at the UDEP. She has over 5 years of professional experience. STEM Professor of innovation and management of technological projects based on the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Since 2014, she has been a member and volunteer at IEEE. Currently, she holds the position of Chair of the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group in the IEEE Peru Section.


María Rosa Reyes

Biography:

Electronic Engineer from the Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego de Trujillo, graduate of the Master's Degree in Telecommunications Strategic Management.
With 14 years of experience in Telecommunications operators, specialising in Data Centres, as well as leading Telecommunications projects.
Currently hold the position of Vice President of the Communications Society chapter within the Peru Section, period 2023 - 2024.

Fiorella Montalvo

Biography:

Computer Engineer from the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal with experience in auditing, processes, project management, marketing, accounting and entrepreneurship. Professionally, she currently works as an Internal Audit Analyst at the insurance company Protecta Security.

In IEEE, she is a volunteer since 2016 and a graduate of the IEEE VoLT programme (Generation 2022). Throughout her career in IEEE she has excelled as a volunteer in the Computer Society chapter and the WIE affinity group; achieving different positions in the IEEE UNFV Student Branch, the IEEE Peru Section and IEEE Region 9.

She currently serves as:
Volunteer in the YP Peru Awards and Recognition team.
Advisor to the Computer Society UNFV Chapter and the WIE UNFV Affinity Group.

Biography:
