IEEE NSU Industry Applications Society, in collaboration with the IEEE NSU Student Branch, hosted a seminar titled "Navigating the AI Landscape: From University to Startups and MNCs" on October 5, 2024, in celebration of IEEE Day 2024. This seminar was arranged to help participants understand AI and provide guidance on exploring career prospects in both academia and industry. members.

Moshiur Rahman Faisal, a renowned AI researcher and industry specialist, was our keynote speaker. He is currently serving as an AI Innovation Specialist at Robi Axiata PLC. He previously worked as a Senior Research Assistant at North South University and a Junior ML Engineer at AlterSense Ltd.

The program started at 1:30 PM, with the hosts addressing the audience. Following that, our speaker came on stage and gave an interesting introduction to artificial intelligence (AI). He classified the four main branches of artificial intelligence: computer vision, robotics, machine learning, and natural language processing.

The keynote speaker defined machine learning as a subclass of artificial intelligence that allows machines to learn from data and improve over time. The participants gained knowledge regarding supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement methods, advanced machine learning, and other aspects of machine learning.

The seminar further highlighted the importance of machine learning in decision-making processes in various industries, including marketing, finance, healthcare, and transportation. Our speaker discussed how artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are improving data analysis, user experiences, and operational efficiencies.

Finally, Faisal discussed some of the industries that use AI and offered helpful advice on pursuing jobs in the field. This includes recommended skills, learning materials, and potential career opportunities in this area. Participants were allowed to ask questions at any time during the seminar, and our speaker patiently responded to each one, providing a pleasant and interactive learning environment. Moshiur Rahman Faisal received a token of appreciation from Tabassoom Rahman, the Chair of the IEEE NSU IAS SBC, as the seminar came to an end. She thanked all the participants. The seminar concluded successfully at 3:30 PM, with a group photo of all attendees and IEEE NSU SB members.
