The XIX Summer School on Computational Intelligence will take place at Universidad de Concepción, Concepción. It is jointly organized by the Chilean Chapter of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society and the Faculty of Engineering, Universidad de Concepción. The summer schools aim to promote Computational Intelligence, bringing together areas such as Intelligent Control Systems, Astroinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Bio-Informatics, Robotics, Computer Vision, Computational Neuroscience, Science Data, and Big Data, among others, to disseminate basic knowledge and the latest research advances to students, professors, and professionals from Chile and other Latin American countries. A Student Poster Competition on Computational Intelligence will be held during the Summer School.

Alice Smith, Auburn University. She is the Joe W. Forehand, Jr. Distinguished Professor of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Auburn University, Auburn, USA. Dr. Smith’s research focus is the analysis, modeling, and optimization of complex systems with an emphasis on computation inspired by natural systems.
Alonso Silva, Nokia Bell Labs. He is a Senior Researcher on Generative AI at Nokia Bell Labs, Paris, France. His specialties are Generative AI, LLMs, Data Analysis, and Game Theory.
Letícia Rittner, University of Campinas. She is an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UNICAMP, Campinas, Brazil. Her main interests are Medical Imaging, Image Processing and Analysis, Image Segmentation and Pattern Recognition.

Authors should submit their articles (extended abstracts) in English as PDF files following the IEEE style guidelines for conference proceedings (limited up to 2 pages (US letter size) of content, including figures and tables, and a 3rd page for references).
The abstract must be in PDF format using an IEEE conference template: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html
Abstracts must explain the proposed work concisely, presenting the context and motivation of the subject, the methods used, preliminary results, and the main contribution. Affiliation should include the name of the student participating in the competition and the name of the co-authors.

Posters will be selected based on the quality of the extended abstract. The decision notification will be send by electronic mail.
Posters should be posted according to the schedule which will be noted in the program. A committee of experts will evaluate the posters and assign the first, second and third places. The awards will be announced on December 13th, 2024.
