IEEE DAY CELEBRATIONS AT KPRIET
IEEE KPRIET Student Branch is Organizing many events to celebrate IEEE Day 2024 from 1st October to 10th October 2024. These events aim to foster innovation and professional growth , in alignment with the IEEE Day theme.

Event Description:
The ALGORUSH Codeathon, organized by IEEE KPRIET CS, ITS, and CIS Societies as part of IEEE Day 2024 celebrations, was designed to test and enhance students' coding abilities through competitive challenges. Held on 8th October 2024, the event provided a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where participants solved real-world coding problems, promoting creativity, problem-solving, and algorithmic thinking.
Participants engaged in two rounds of coding challenges, each progressively more difficult. The event attracted coders from various departments, offering a unique opportunity for students to explore different coding approaches and optimization techniques while honing their technical skills.

Two-Round Structure:
The event kicked off with an introduction to the rules, followed by Round 1, where participants solved two algorithmic problems in 45 minutes. The top 50% advanced to Round 2, which presented more complex problems, allowing participants to demonstrate advanced coding techniques and optimization skills. -
Coding Environment:
The event used the VS Code IDE, with pre-installed extensions for C++, Java, and Python, giving participants flexibility in their coding preferences. Problems were accompanied by both sample and hidden test cases to ensure solutions were robust and efficient. -
Evaluation Criteria:
Participants were evaluated on the correctness of their solutions, the efficiency of their code (time and space complexity), and their ability to handle edge cases. The judging process was thorough, taking into account not only the final solutions but also the approach and optimization strategies used by participants. -
Participant Engagement:
The codeathon saw enthusiastic participation from 40 students, who actively engaged in solving real-world problems. The structured format and time constraints helped participants develop quick-thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure.
Conclusion:
The ALGORUSH Codeathon was a resounding success, offering participants a valuable learning experience while challenging their coding abilities. The event showcased participants' technical skills and highlighted the importance of algorithmic thinking in today's tech-driven world. Top performers were awarded mementos, and all participants received certificates, recognizing their efforts in this exciting and challenging competition.
