ROBO DRIBBLE AND ROBO SOCCER MATCHES
The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) in collaboration with ComedKares organized "Robo-Dribble", an engaging event held on Oct 9th, 2024, with 60 enthusiastic participants from various academic backgrounds. This immersive workshop, supported by 15 dedicated volunteersand executive committee members, offered participants an in-depth exploration of robotics, blending hands-on learning with cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Spanning from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, the workshop equipped attendees with fundamental knowledge in robotics hardware, software, and programming languages. Through interactive sessions, participants were guided in designing and building their own robots, fostering both creativity and technical proficiency. The learning experience was enhanced by a follow-up competition, driving attendees to develop more agile and competitive designs. This initiative not only enriched their understanding but also sharpened their practical skills in preparation for the challenge ahead.
The subsequent competition, held in the auditorium, attracted a lively audience of over 100 spectators. A total of 15 functional robots, developed during the workshop, competed in high-energy Robo-Soccer matches using an elimination format. Seven teams advanced to the exhilarating Robo-Sumo round, where participants showcased their engineering ingenuity. The event culminated in an awards ceremony, with winners receiving trophies and additional prizes, recognizing their exceptional performance.
The "Robo-Dribble" event successfully achieved its goals of fostering innovation, teamwork, and a passion for robotics. It provided a platform for participants to push the boundaries of their knowledge while offering an engaging and competitive atmosphere. The event not only highlighted technical accomplishments but also promoted a spirit of healthy competition, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.
