Neuro Vision - Software Focus Group
The SFG training series on Neural Networks commenced with a structured approach, providing
participants with a comprehensive introduction to the foundational concepts of neural networks. In
Session 1, the participants were introduced to the basics of neural network architecture, including
neurons, layers, weights, and biases, alongside an overview of the project that would be developed
throughout the program. The session also emphasized understanding the dataset by conducting
exploratory data analysis and preliminary experimentation. Subsequent sessions progressively built on
this foundation, with Session 2 focusing on data preprocessing, model building, and performance
evaluation, followed by Session 3, which delved into neural network learning mechanisms, activation
functions, optimization techniques, and backpropagation. The final session, Session 4, culminated in
coding a model from scratch, implementing mathematical concepts, activation functions, and training
algorithms like gradient descent. This structured approach provided a comprehensive, hands-on
experience in building and optimizing neural networks.
