The Mental Health Talk and Activity was organized by Chandigarh University, in association with the IEEE Photonics Society, and IEEE Power and Energy Society. The goal was to raise awareness about mental health, provide strategies for stress management, and promote well-being within the university community. The event was part of a broader effort to create a supportive environment for students, staff, and faculty to discuss mental health issues openly. Dr Babita Dosajh delivered an impactful and engaging talk about the importance of mental health. She highlighted the pressures faced by students in academic settings and offered actionable strategies for coping with stress, such as mindfulness, exercise, and seeking professional support when needed. The talk was interactive, with many students contributing their thoughts and experiences. The event achieved its goal of raising mental health awareness and equipping participants with practical strategies to improve their mental well-being. The interactive format, combined with Dr. Dosajh’s expertise, created a supportive atmosphere that encouraged open discussion about mental health. Based on the success of this event, the organizing committee plans to host more such events in the future, focusing on mental health and personal development.
