Quantum communication - an introduction
Understanding quantum information helps develop applications using quantum technologies. Quantum information has some similarities and differences with their classical counterparts. In this talk, we will introduce the quantum information from a simple coin toss perspective and present its significance. Later, we plan to discuss a simple communication protocol using a quantum channel and motivate a few related problems.

Dr. Arun B Aloshious
Biography:
Arun B. Aloshious has a UG degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University, a PG degree in Signal Processing from NIT Calicut, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at IIT Guwahati. Earlier, he worked at Duke University as a Postdoctoral associate. His research during his PhD and Postdoctoral experience is on quantum error correction codes. His research interests include Quantum Error Correction, Information theory, Quantum Computation, Communication, and related topics in classical communication and signal processing.
