presenter Michael Miller, New York University, School of Engineering & Fordham University will help you understand AI and its impact on everyday life.
Biography:
Solely responsible for the secondary system of the most complex utility in the world.
Administer computer facilities, training, equipment, acquisition, and development needs for an organization of 200 people. Provide expertise, planning and direction in developing new ideas and strategies to effect cost savings and productivity enhancements. Maintain state-of-the-art models and analysis for users of engineering programs. Installed LAN hardware for Distribution Engineering resulting in labor savings and a progressive increase in use.
Managed a professional staff of 6 and provided direction for a fifty man field force in the construction of projects ranging from $1 to $12 million. Provided inventive designs and labor saving techniques in implementing plans to achieve 15-20% savings below estimates. Reviewed resistance, structural design, load factors, space, safety, materials, and cost factors in sizing and coordination of feeders. Coordinated installations with other trades, improving efficiency and avoiding additional costs. Engineered and designed commercial buildings / service entry work. Installed transformer vaults, welding, interconnection, service entry, feeder cables, panels, fuse coordination, motor relay panels, and controls. Programmed contractors' register computerized system to provide a complete system for identifying potentially unsound vendors and non-performers. Maintaining excellent relation with the Public Service Commission (PSC) and other regulatory agencies including firm and ongoing contacts with all levels of executive management.
