Workshop on IOT

The IoT and Smart Systems virtual workshop, held on 5th October from 9:45 AM to 12:00 PM, offered an insightful exploration into the world of the Internet of Things (IoT). The event was organized by the IEEE Karunya University Student Branch (STB31061) as part of the IEEE Day celebrations. Jagruth Nagula, led the session, guiding attendees through both theoretical and practical aspects of IoT systems.

This workshop aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of IoT fundamentals, including its architecture, components, and real-world applications. Attendees also had the chance to engage in a hands-on experience using Arduino to develop and program IoT devices, offering a practical glimpse into the potential of this transformative technology.

The session highlighted IoT's potential to revolutionize industries by improving efficiency, automation, and connectivity, quoting the visionary words of Kevin Ashton, a British technology pioneer:

“The Internet of Things has the potential to change the world, just as the Internet did. Maybe even more so.”

By the end of the event, participants gained valuable insights into building IoT projects, understanding data management in IoT, and recognizing future trends shaping this rapidly growing field.
