Introduction:

The IEEE Chapter Installation and IEEE Day Celebration took place at G H Raisoni College of Engineering (GHRCE) on 10th October 2024. This event celebrated the installation of the IEEE Student Branch (SB), Computer Society (CS), Computational Intelligence Society (CIS), and Social Sciences & Technology (SSIT) chapters. Over 100 participants, including faculty members, students, and guests, were present for this event, which was organized in F-21 at GHRCE, Nagpur.

The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting to honor Saraswati Devi, symbolizing wisdom and knowledge. Dr. Jaju sir ( Dean R&D GHRCE,Nagpur ) delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the significance of IEEE chapters in nurturing leadership, innovation, and technological excellence among students.

Guest Speaker:

The event featured a guest talk by Dr. Prabhat Sharma, Past chair of  IEEE Nagpur Subsection and Professor at VNIT Nagpur. Dr. Sharma shared his expertise on emerging technologies and encouraged students to actively participate in IEEE activities to enhance their technical knowledge and leadership skills. His talk provided valuable insights and inspired the audience.

Chapter Installation:

The core of the event was the formal installation of the IEEE SB, CS, CIS, and SSIT chapters. During the installation, the newly appointed chairs took their oaths and shared their vision for the upcoming year. They outlined the objectives and activities for each chapter, which include technical workshops, community service and industry collaboration to benefit the student community.

Celebration and Conclusion:

 To conclude the event, a cake-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate IEEE Day. The celebration symbolized the unity and shared commitment of all the chapters toward their collective goals. A sense of excitement and optimism filled the room as participants discussed upcoming events and initiatives.

A vote of thanks was delivered, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, guest speakers, and participants for their support and contributions. Special thanks were extended to the organizing committee, whose efforts ensured that the event was conducted smoothly and efficiently.

The event proved to be a great success, fostering a sense of collaboration, engagement, and leadership among the IEEE members. With all the chapters now installed, the IEEE community at GHRCE looks forward to a year filled with innovative projects, technical advancements and societal contributions.
