It is similar to a hackathon but focuses more on the ideation phase, often without the need for coding or developing a final product.

Key Features of an Ideathon:

  1. Theme or Problem Statement: Participants are given a specific theme or problem to solve, which can vary from technology, social impact, business, healthcare, etc.

  2. Teamwork: People typically form teams to brainstorm ideas, bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise to come up with creative solutions.

  3. Mentorship: Experts in relevant fields may act as mentors, offering guidance, feedback, and insight into refining ideas.

  4. Presentation: At the end of the ideathon, teams pitch their ideas to a panel of judges or experts. The pitches may include concept designs, prototypes, or simply a well-researched solution.

  5. Prizes and Recognition: Winning ideas or teams may receive prizes, funding opportunities, or invitations to further develop their solutions in subsequent events or accelerators.

    The Ideathon conducted on 09-10-24 aims to provide a platform for students, engineers, and tech enthusiasts to brainstorm and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. The event was presented by IEEE Student branch AIMT as the 4th event in their mini Fest YOGYATA.
    A total of 50+ students participated. Along with refreshments they were rewarded with cash prizes worth 5000 INR and IEEE certified certificates.
