Thank you for this opportunity and the trust you've shown in nominating me for President of the IEEE Seattle Consultant Network Chapter. It’s an honor to stand here among such skilled professionals, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.

As we know, consulting is the work of experts—individuals with specialized knowledge and a commitment to solving complex problems. But to reach our full potential, we need something more than individual expertise. We need collaboration, an open exchange of ideas, and a community that values innovation. This is what makes our network so powerful.

Within the IEEE framework, we have a unique opportunity to uplift each other and grow collectively. And I believe we can accomplish this through specific, impactful initiatives. Let me share a few ideas:

First, I’d like to introduce Consultant Roundtables: monthly gatherings focused on current and emerging themes in our industry. Picture an in-depth discussion on topics like “The Future of AI in Consulting” or “Navigating Cybersecurity Risks.” These roundtables will be a place to dive deep into complex issues, share diverse perspectives, and build a stronger knowledge base together.

Second, we’ll launch Expert Spotlights, where one member or an invited expert presents a recent project or insights from their field. Imagine learning directly from peers and thought leaders—not just in Seattle, but from IEEE members globally. This approach will bring new perspectives to our chapter and keep us at the forefront of consulting.

Because collaboration is at the core of our success, we’ll also create a Collaborative Project Platform where members can pitch ideas or join forces on innovative projects. This will be a space for real-world impact—a place to engage in forward-thinking work that elevates everyone’s expertise.

Additionally, we’ll host Quarterly Networking Nights, inviting leaders from other IEEE chapters and industry experts to connect and share insights. These events will strengthen our network and foster relationships that can open doors for all of us.

Finally, we’ll establish an Annual Innovation Challenge, inviting members to propose tools, technologies, or strategies that benefit consultants or enhance our network. This challenge is about celebrating creativity and practical innovation, reinforcing our chapter’s commitment to continuous growth.

Together, these initiatives will make our chapter a place where expertise meets opportunity, and where innovation is not just encouraged but actively fostered.

Biography:

An experienced engineering professional with over 17 years in design, supervision and project management for energy, infrastructure, transportation and industrial projects. Educational background includes electrical engineering, process & control engineering and industrial engineering & management. Project execution with international assignments across Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Americas. Additional experience with energy scenarios forecasting energy demand and renewable energy.

Mike Brisbois, PE of Loyal Source

Treasurer

Collects all fees and authorizes payment of bills as directed by the Chairperson. Responsible for maintaining the bank account and/or working with IEEE Seattle Treasurer for deposit and disbursement of funds as directed. Prepares and presents treasury report for annual and business meetings of the Network and for the Executive Board. Responsible for monitoring expenditure of funds versus availability. Prepares annual budget in keeping with forecast of fee collections and allocations from the IEEE Seattle Section and other sources.

Mr. Brisbois is an Electrical Engineer with design experience, project management and leadership skills. He has worked in the building, space, manufacturing and technology sectors. He has hosted and presented at many technical sessions and conferences. He is a technical competent leader and able to get things done. Mr. Brisbois has his Professional Engineering license in the State of Washington, Oregon, Texas, Illinois, California, and Missouri. His focus is on leading sustainable energy projects. Completed the Certified Energy Management course and is an FPE (Fire Protection Engineer). He is a board member on several technical organizations.
