Dr. Tamilselvan Ganesan of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology

Biography:
Dr. Tamilselvan Ganesan is an accomplished academic and researcher, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. With a passion for advanced engineering and drone optimization, Dr. Tamilselvan brings an extensive background in both research and teaching, particularly in the fields of computational fluid dynamics, UAV technology, and automotive engineering.
Dr. Tamilselvan’s academic journey has been marked by a deep commitment to innovation in engineering. He completed his Ph.D. in Automobile Engineering at PSG College of Technology, specializing in drone optimization, where he contributed substantial advancements to UAV applications. Prior to his Ph.D., he earned a postgraduate degree in Automotive Engineering (2019-2021) from PSG College of Technology and completed his undergraduate studies in engineering at AAA College of Engineering and Technology (2015-2019).
In his research, Dr. Tamilselvan has explored various applications of UAVs, particularly in the areas of smart agriculture and precision farming, and has investigated the use of natural fibers in UAV components to enhance sustainability. His publications reflect his expertise, with studies on topics ranging from aerodynamic analysis of UAV propellers to IoT-based UAV systems for sustainable agriculture. Notable works include his study on Borassus Flabellifer fiber-based composites for UAV landing gear, published in the Iranian Polymer Journal, and his comprehensive analysis on the real-time application of IoT-enabled UAVs in precision agriculture.
Dr. Tamilselvan’s contributions to academia and industry have also been recognized through his innovations in drone technology. His research offers insights into enhancing the performance of UAVs in various environments and applications, including smart farming, environmental observation, and UAV swarm systems. A proficient user of advanced computational tools like MATLAB, ANSYS, and CFD, Dr. Tamilselvan combines technical skill with an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving.
Through his teaching role at KPRIET, Dr. Tamilselvan has been dedicated to advancing the knowledge and skills of his students in mechatronics and UAV technologies. His expertise in higher education, combined with his hands-on approach to applied research, continues to shape the field of UAV technology and smart agriculture, making significant strides toward a more sustainable future.
