Adam of Marmon Utility

Biography:

Adam Filion is the Engineering Manager for underground Power Cables with Marmon Utility. His team is responsible for product design, development, and technical support on Hendrix and Kerite underground shielded power cable rated 5-138 kV. He is a member of ICEA, IEEE, and CSA’s Technical Subcommittee for Shielded and Concentric Neutral Power Cables C115.1. He has been a part of the Wire and Cable industry for over 17 years, all of which has been in a Product Engineering capacity. Prior to joining Marmon Utility, Adam spent over 10 years with General Cable where he had been part of their Product Engineering group serving in various roles at multiple locations. There he gained experience in industrial and specialty, flexible cord, electronics, and communications cables. Since joining Marmon Utility in 2018, his focus has been on medium and high voltage power cables. He was born and raised in New Hampshire where he currently resides with his family. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.

I’ve been with Marmon Utility since 2012 serving many roles during my tenure.
Working with both small and large Utilities across NorthAmerica: Southeast, Midwest,
Southwest, Pacific Northwest, Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic Provinces (NB, NS, PEI, NF, LB)
involving 17 Rep. Agencies across the US and Canadian Provinces.
Key accounts: AEP, FPL, Duke, Entergy, Ameren, Consumers Power, PSE&G, SCE,
PacifiCorp, MidAmerican, Oncor, Evergy to name a few.
Responsibilities: Sales, Training, Promotion and Growth of the Molded Products brand.
Background: 35+ year’s of contribution to the Electric Utility industry with experience in
Distribution, Manufacturer Agent Representative, Direct Manufacturing Representative along
with various industry groups.


Edward of Marmon Utility

Biography:

Edward Laughlin is the Manager of Engineering for Overhead Systems for  Marmon Utility (Hendrix) in Amherst NH. Edward has spent 30 years at Marmon Utility involved with the design and installation of Aerial Spacer Cable systems from 5kV to 115kV. He also held the position of System Engineer at Danvers (MA) Municipal Electric Department.  Edward has a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute.  Edward has been an IEEE member since 1995.

The seminar fee includes lunch, refreshments and handouts.  Non-members joining IEEE within 30 days of the seminar will be rebated 50% of the IEEE registration charge.

Four hours of instruction will be provided.  If desired, IEEE Continuing Education Units (0.4 CEUs) will be offered for this course - a small fee of $55 will be required for processing.
