IEEE WEEK 2024

Objective:
The main goal of IEEE Week 2024 was to create a well-rounded learning experience that combined both technical challenges and engaging non-technical activities. This encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones, work collaboratively, and apply their skills in both engineering-focused and general contexts.

1. Technical Events:

Techathlon:
A multi-round competition that combined technical quizzes, problem-solving, and coding tasks. Participants competed in teams, pushing their knowledge and speed as they tackled engineering challenges under timed conditions. This event emphasized teamwork, technical accuracy, and rapid decision-making.

AlgoArena:
A coding and algorithm-focused event where participants solved complex coding problems and optimized algorithms. The arena-style competition required participants to code solutions on the spot, fostering quick thinking and deep programming knowledge.

Digital Chess:
A chess tournament with a twist: the matches took place in a digital format, and participants were encouraged to use strategic thinking to outwit their opponents. This event highlighted logical thinking, planning, and adaptability—skills essential for any engineering field.

2. Non-Technical Events:

Connect the Dot:

A solo Pick and Speak event where participants were given multiple, seemingly unrelated topics and had to creatively connect them in a coherent speech. This required quick thinking, creativity, and the ability to draw connections between diverse ideas on the spot. The event tested the participant’s ability to improvise and think critically.

Uno Reverse:

In this event, participants started speaking on a topic, but anyone could call "Uno Reverse" at any point, forcing the speaker to switch to a new topic instantly. The quick changes kept participants on their toes, testing their adaptability, quick thinking, and depth of knowledge on multiple topics

Digital Ad Making:
This creative event challenged participants to design an engaging digital advertisement for a fictional product or service. Participants had to think like marketers, using visuals, text, and slogans to create ads that were eye-catching, informative, and persuasive. The goal was to simulate real-world marketing scenarios, encouraging students to be innovative and strategic in their design approach.
