Three Day Faculty Development Programme on “Power Electronics Application for Electric Vehicle Technology & Sustainable Energy Integration"
The FDP aims to bring together academicians, researchers, and industrial experts in the field of Power Electronics advancements and its applications. Power Electronics converters are gaining momentum due to several factors, because of its applications in the field of EV and sustainable energy. This FDP reviews the advances of Power Electronics regarding converter and battery technology trends, charging methods, as well as new research challenges and open opportunities. FDP conclude by discussing what is shortly expected in this field, as well as the research aspects, which, in opinion, are still open for both industry and academic community.
Objectives of the FDP
· To bring together academicians and researchers in Innovation and Research Challenges in the field of Power Electronics.
· To enhance our professional development program and to equip our faculty with skills and knowledge that can help them teach Power Electronics and its applications to students from various disciplines.

Biography:
· Dr Prema V is currently working as Associate Professor in department of Electrical & Electronics, BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore. She completed B.Tech from Calicut University and M.Tech in Power Electronics from BMSCE. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from VTU in the area of renewable energy. She has 20 years of teaching and 1 ½ years of industry experience. Prior to her current assignment as Associate Professor at BMSCE, sha has worked with The Oxford College of Engineering, Sapthagiri College of Engineering and RV College of Engineering, Bangalore. Being an active member of IEEE, she has served many roles in various chapters of IEEE, like student councilor of IEEE PES-RVCE chapter, execom member, treasurer and vice-chair of IEEE PELS Bangalore chapter, etc.. Currently she is the Chair of IEEE PELS Bangalore Chapter. She is also serving as the President of Institution Innovation Council (IIC) at BMSCE.

· Mr. Rakshith B S is the Senior Application Engineer for Mathworks products at CoreEL Technologies, Bengaluru. He holds a B.E degree from GSSIT, Karnataka. He started his career service as Assistant Professor in Brindavan College of Engineering from 2014 to 2019.
He has 8+ years of extensive experience in Technical Education and is helping bridging the gap in industry and academia. He is currently providing technical engagement and solutions to educational institutions as a part of CoreEl University Program. He has technical hands-on expertise in MATLAB and Simulink. His area of interests are Model Based Design, Physical Modeling, Control Engineering, Signal Processing, EV, Robotics, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, AI and Deep Learning.

· A G Vishal Anand (M’16, SM’20) received a B.E degree from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in 2001 and M.S. degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 2005. He worked as a Manager at Tata Motors Pvt Ltd, Pune, from June 2005 to Nov 2005. From Dec 2005 to August 2006, he worked at American Power Conversion as a Design Engineer. From Sep 2006 to the present day, he has been with Bloom Energy (I) Pvt Ltd, currently working as Director of Engineering. He is working towards his Ph. D at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

Dr. K. Deepa, is Associate Professor of EEE Dept and Lead, E-Mobility Thrust Area Group, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore. 20+ PG graduates and two PhD scholar have completed their degree under her guidance, and currently she is guiding 7 PhD scholars. She has 50+ International Journals and 100+ International conference papers to her credits. She has authored 2 books titled “Control systems” and “Electrical Machines”, Filed 5 Indian Patents and 7 book chapters. She has 25+ years of academic and research experience. She is Life Member of Indian Society For Technical Education (ISTE - India), Associate Member of The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE- India) and Senior Member of The Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE –USA).

Biography:
Kaushik Basu received the BE. degree from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, India, in 2003, the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 2012, respectively. He was a Design Engineer with Cold Watt India in 2006 and an Electronics and Control Engineer with Dynapower Corporation USA from 2013-15. Currently he is an Associate Professor, in the Department of Electrical Engineering in Indian Institute of Science. He has been an author and co-author of several technical papers published in peer reviewed journals and conferences. His research interests include various aspects of the general area of Power Electronics.

Biography:
Dr. M. Premkumar received a B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, India, during the year 2008; and an M.E. degree in Applied Electronics from the Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore, India, during the year 2010. He also received a Ph.D. degree from Anna University, Chennai, India, during the year March 2019. He has more than 15 years of experience in teaching, and currently, he is working as a Professor and Head at the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. He started his career with Maharaja Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, India as a Lecturer, and he worked there for more than 1 Year and 6 Months. Then, he joined hands with Teja Shakthi Institute of Technology for Women, Coimbatore, India, in January 2010, and he worked there for 2 Years and 6 Months. He shifted to KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, India, in June 2012, and he worked as a Sr. Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. He shifted to GMR Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh, India, in October 2016 and worked as an Assistant Professor for 4 Years and 7 Months. Presently, he has been associated with Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, since May 2021 as a Professor and Head in the Department of EEE.
