With the challenge to provide cost effective broadband connectivity in Africa many are looking at 5G to be the saviour. Besides 5G providing massive traffic, instant information, higher bandwidth and lower latency, it is supposed to revolutionize the way we live, work and commute in cyber-secure Africa through new spectrum opportunities for businesses, fundamental new applications, smarter cities and transportation, all hopefully in a Cognitive Networked environment.

This 1 day workshop will address the challenges and research opportunities in 5G and how and what its industry and academia is doing to address this.
