Dr. David Carta will provide an overview of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technologies used in the Automatic Identification and Data Capture field. He will specifically focus on RFID in the LF (125kHz), HF (13.56 mHz) and UHF (900MHz) frequency ranges. He will discuss practical uses of RFID as well as cover a variety of features and benefits, as well as dispensing with some myths.

Overview of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Technologies

Dr. David Carta is the CEO and founder of Telaeris Inc. He graduated with his B.S. degree from Caltech in 1990 and then earned his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego in 1997. He worked for Cubic Corporation from 1995-2005, on a variety of RFID related projects including the GOCARD System smartcard used for both Washington D.C. and Chicago, prototyping the first RFID embedded passports, and the San Ysidro Pedestrian SENTRI program. He founded Telaeris in 2005 with a goal to build a suite of RFID enabled products. Over the past 11 years, Telaeris has provided RFID solutions for a wide variety of clients including Disney, British Petroleum, Taylor Guitars, Qualcomm, and General Atomics.
