On October 12, 2024, The highly anticipated Microsoft Day was held at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), attracting students eager to learn from industry experts. The event featured two insightful sessions by distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and experiences in the tech domain.
Session 1 (12:00 PM - 1: PM): A Decade of Excellence: Bharat Ahuja’s Evolution in Software Engineering
It was started Bharat Ahuja, a Principal Software Engineer with over a decade of experience in the software industry. Mr. Ahuja captivated the audience by sharing key moments from his professional journey. He emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation in technical skills, continuous learning, and staying adaptable in the ever-evolving tech landscape. Students were inspired by his insights on navigating career challenges and the essential qualities required to excel in technology-driven roles.
Session 2 (11:30 AM - 12:15 PM): From Student to Mentor: Urvi Goel’s Journey to Tech Education Excellence
The second session featured Urvi Goel, an IGDTUW alumna and former DSA instructor at Apni Kaksha and Physics Wallah. Her talk offered a relatable and motivational perspective for the students, as she highlighted her transition from an IGDTUW student to a recognized mentor in the tech education space. She shared strategies for mastering Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and provided tips for building a competitive edge in programming.
Both of them was given a memento as a part of their facilitation.

His career began with internships at Microsoft, where he developed Android unit-testing frameworks, and at IIT Bombay, working on the online education tool, iteach..A graduate of IIT Patna, Bharat excelled in C++, image processing, and mobile development, which propelled his career. He is highly skilled in C, C++, Python, and data structures, and is recognized for his leadership and mentoring abilities. As a coach, Bharat has guided aspiring engineers through career advice and interview preparation.
Based in Hyderabad, Bharat has successfully balanced technical responsibilities with mentorship, making a significant impact at Microsoft.
