Tilman Thrum of Stantec
Biography:
As the Managing Leader, Energy for Stantec in Western Canada, Tilman leverages his broad and deep technical engineering background and experience in utility and renewable project delivery to lead a team of 170+ professionals. He has 30 years professional experience in interdisciplinary management of complex technical teams and is well versed at leading diverse groups of technical and business support personnel. In addition to his management skills, Tilman has a strong professional network and a reputation for recruiting and developing team members.
Tilman’s experience also covers a variety of contract governance models, and he plays a key role in the governance of all programs of work within Stantec’s Energy team in Western Canada, such as the new BC Hydro T&D Engineering and Project Delivery Master Service Agreement where he currently is Stantec’s contract representative, other MSA’s with BC Hydro, ENMAX Distribution MSA, Stantec’s MSAs with SaskPower, as well as MSAs with the northern utilities NTPC and YEC, and the FortisAlberta MSA.
Tilman is also affiliated with BCIT’s Master of Engineering in Smart Grid Systems and Technologies program as an adjunct lecturer. He further serves as a member of the program advisory committee for BCIT’s electrical engineering power option.
