The AUBH IEEE Branch hosted a workshop titled "Relays Where Controls Began," led by Eng. Ahmed Alhajji, a distinguished maintenance engineer at Aramco and co-founder of the Robohajr community. Known for his expertise in digital fabrication (FabLabs) and digital transformation, Eng. Alhajji explored the history and evolution of control systems, emphasizing the pivotal role of relays. The workshop agenda covered topics such as the origins of control systems, the transition from manual control to electrical switches, the features and mechanisms of relay-based control systems, and their applications in modern technologies. Held on November 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM in ICE LAB Room 1 at the American University of Bahrain, the session provided valuable insights for students and professionals interested in the intersection of historical engineering concepts and contemporary digital innovation.
