REPORT ON THE ROBOTICS COMPETITION AT ENSI
1.EVENT OVERVIEW
On Sunday, October 12, 2024, a robotics competition was held at LENSI, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
The event gathered participants from various institutions and robotics enthusiasts. Our IEEE RAS
Chapter participated with two types of robots: line-following robots and an autonomous robot. We
traveled with the Aerobotix teams in a bus that made three shuttle trips to accommodate all the
participants.
2.EVENT SCHEDULE
The day began with the homologation process, where all participating robots were inspected
and approved for the competition. This step was crucial to ensure that all robots complied with
the competition's technical requirements and safety standards.
The official opening ceremony took place, welcoming all teams and spectators to the
event. The event coordinators gave a brief introduction about the competition format and the importance of robotics in education and innovation.
Two key competitions were held simultaneously:
The Junior Robot Competition, where young teams competed by programming robots to complete specific tasks without human intervention.
The Line-Following Robot Competition, in which teams showcased their robots' ability to navigate along a marked path as quickly and accurately as possible.
As the junior competitions concluded, the prize distribution ceremony was held, recognizing the most outstanding performances in both categories.
In the afternoon, the All-Terrain Robot Competition took place, challenging the robots to traverse difficult terrains and obstacles. This segment required a high level of technical expertise, testing both the robots' robustness and the teams' problem-solving skills.
The event concluded with a formal closing ceremony, celebrating the achievements of all participants and thanking the organizers and sponsors. Teams reflected on their performance, sharing experiences and lessons learned.
our participation
Our IEEE RAS Chapter was proud to contribute to this exciting event by entering two
different types of robots. We had a team of line-following robots, as well as an
autonomous robot team, which was the same team that competed in the Eurobot
competition this year. Despite the challenging nature of the event, both teams performed admirably, showcasing their robots’ precision and autonomous capabilities.
TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS
The teams traveled to LENSI together with the Aerobotix teams. To accommodate everyone, the
bus made three shuttle trips. This allowed for smooth coordination and ensured all participants arrived on time, fully prepared for the competition.
CONCLUSION
The robotics competition at LENSI was a valuable experience for our chapter. It allowed us to
test our engineering skills, collaborate with other teams, and gain valuable insights into robot
design and performance. We look forward to participating in future events and continuing to contribute to the development of robotics in our community.
