Hasnaeen Rizvi Rahman
Empowering Bangladeshi Youth: Thriving on the age of AI over the next decade
Biography:
"I am a billion years old soul, forty years old creature, twenty years old engineer, a decade old entrepreneur + business strategist, and a perpetual problem solver."
I'm Hasnaeen Rizvi Rahman, and in 2008, while still in my mid-twenties, I founded Astha IT. Over the course of two decades, it evolved into an award-winning global service provider, catering to clients across six continents.
Driven by a passion for solving challenges, I've carried the spirit of a multiple-time national chess champion from my school days into the world of technology. My journey began in ninth grade when I self-taught computer programming. Within two years, I developed and sold my first commercial software to a buying house. My academic pursuits culminated in graduating summa cum laude from North South University with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Under my leadership, Astha IT has emerged as a tech giant and the foremost software exporter of the country. It's a hub of thousands of engineers, where mentorship and growth thrive. Beyond Astha IT, I've co-founded and contributed to diverse ventures in Bangladesh, Sweden, and the United States.
One of my guiding principles is encapsulated in my favorite quote: "I think, therefore I am."
Feel free to explore my personal website: http://hasnaeen.me
To encapsulate who I am: Entrepreneur, Technologist, Perfectionist, Problem Solver, Avid Reader, Deep Thinker.

Engineering Thinking: Do You Organize Your Thinking Like an Engineer?
Biography:
Born out of a concern over how people learn, I have developed a teaching methodology called NETT or Neuron Engaging Teaching Technique. This is a result of 40+ years of teaching experience (both in Bangladesh and abroad), action research and a question based study of the Qur'an and concerns that students do not develop competency in their chosen field. My main preoccupation now is to help all stakeholders - students, teachers, institutions, employers and regulatory bodies be effective in their chosen area of education delivery whether face-to-face or online.

Grid Monetization: Technological Advancements Beyond Smart Grid
Biography:
As you get older and think about your life’s experiences, you recognize certain events that were life changing => that influenced the rest of your life.
When I was in 6th grade I taught myself electricity and taught myself how to solder using a pencil soldering iron. I knew that I wanted to be an Electrical Engineer in middle school.
At Purdue University, during my 1st year, Professor El-Abiad called me into his office and told me I would specialize in Power Engineering within Electrical Engineering. He also told me I would get BSEE and MSEE degrees, with a Master’s thesis, in five rather than six years.
After graduation and working in my first full-time Electrical Engineering job in San Francisco, I went to the University of California-Berkeley at night to get an MBA, specializing in Finance, to learn the business side of technology.
My active participation in the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), and other industry organizations, has taught me much more about the technology, created an extensive network of industry contacts, and given me invaluable leadership experience.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with others to help them with their work, or with their life in general. I’ve authored or co-authored over 150 technical papers and articles and five books.
When I turned 59 and reached the peak weight of my life, I began working out with a trainer and began eating healthier. I’m in my 13th year working out with my trainer, am 25 pounds lighter, and run many 5K races, frequently winning my age group.
I enjoy mentoring young professionals, and for six years I led an Explorer Post at GE for high school boys and girls that is career-focused on STEM. We influenced over 200 high school boys and girls in six years to study engineering or computer science when they go to college.
My work at GE, and with industry organizations such as the IEEE PES, is not work for me. When you are fortunate to love what you do, it is fun!
