As part of the IEEE PES Day 2024 Quiz, the IEEE Power and Energy Society Kerala Chapter, in collaboration with IEEE PES SBC CET, organized a Membership Development Session on November 17, 2024, at the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET). This session was specifically conducted for the quiz participants to promote IEEE PES memberships and emphasize the benefits of joining a global network dedicated to power and energy engineering. The session was skillfully handled by Anvitha Vinod, Chair of IEEE PES SBC CET and the Travancore Hub Student Representative for IEEE PES Kerala Chapter.

The session began with an introduction to IEEE and PES as leading organizations that foster technological innovation and professional growth. Anvitha Vinod outlined the numerous benefits of IEEE PES membership, including access to cutting-edge research publications, opportunities to attend prestigious technical conferences, and avenues for professional development through networking. These benefits enable members to expand their knowledge base, stay ahead in the ever-evolving field of power and energy engineering, and build meaningful connections with industry leaders and peers globally.

A significant highlight of the session was the live demonstration of the IEEE PES Resource Center, a comprehensive online platform that offers a wealth of resources for students and professionals alike. Anvitha guided participants through its features, showcasing a vast collection of technical papers, webinars, online courses, and interactive tools designed to support learning and research. She also demonstrated how members could use the platform for skill development, project ideas, and keeping up-to-date with emerging trends in the energy sector.

The session concluded with a step-by-step explanation of the IEEE PES membership application process, covering membership categories, fee structures, and registration details. Attendees were encouraged to join the IEEE PES community and become active contributors to the global engineering ecosystem.
