Solar Power Technology: Case Study of Morris County Library
On Thursday, June 8, 2017 the IEEE Consultants' Network of Northern NJ (www.technologyontap.org) will present a talk sponsored by SunLight General, reviewing photovoltaic power generation, as exemplified by the array installed at the Morris County Library.
ABOUT THE TOPIC
This presentation reviews the principles and some the challenges of solar power generating systems. In particular, the talk will focus on the photoelectric (PV) array installed over the parking lot of our meeting host, Morris County Library.
The topics will include:
* Fundamentals of solar energy generating PV systems
o Key design points for developing a solar project installation
o Evaluating and determining performance of a solar system
* Energy portfolio Management (and how solar fits in)
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Stephen Schneider, Director of Operations, is responsible for the oversight and management of over 140 solar PV facilities. He leads operations and maintenance and assists in development and project management if new installations. Mr. Schneider was previously the Director of Operation at Pfister Energy, a New Jersey based solar integrator. He has 5 years of experience with a variety of innovative renewable energy projects. Prior to entering the solar industry, Mr. Schneider spent over 10 years in the finance and construction industries. He holds a BSEE and an MBA, both from Monmouth University and is a NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer.
Jim Mumm, Executive VP, has been bringing innovative solutions to commercial and industrial firms since 1984. He served as the Executive VP for a leading energy consulting firm. He led the team in the PJM power pool region, the largest in the country. Jim also served as the CEO of a leading national sales and executive training firm and as the CEO of a successful sales and marketing firm that provided senior level sales assistance to technology solution providers. He has a BBA, MBA and a MSc in Computer Information Systems from Baruch College of the City of New York.
SunLight General Capital is a developer, financer, and operator of solar power plants in North America and provides solar-generated energy to commercial, government, and utility customers through Power Purchase Agreements. SunLight General Capital, founded by professionals from the solar and finance industries in 2009, has developed over 100 sites in an aggregate amount over 35 MW.
