Emerging Trends in the Public Blockchain Ecosystem

In 2009, Bitcoin was introduced as a form of electronic cash. The architecture underlying Bitcoin is referred to as the “Blockchain.” Over the past decade, the field of blockchain technology, and more broadly, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), has evolved to include a diverse range of innovative distributed network architectures. These architectures leverage various consensus protocols, data structures, and economic incentive models. Blockchains can be broadly categorized into public blockchains and private blockchains. Private blockchains are primarily utilized in enterprise and government applications, offering controlled access and enhanced privacy. In contrast, public blockchains have become an economic platform for open innovation, enabling the development of technologies such as stablecoins, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), Decentralized Finance (DeFi), GameFi, and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs). This talk will explore emerging trends within the public blockchain ecosystem, including Decentralized Physical Infrastructure (DePIN), Real World Assets (RWAs), and the integration of AI Agents.
