A 36-hour hackathon on Web Development for IoT was successfully organized by IEEE at Malineni Lakshmaiah Women’s Engineering College on December 23rd and 24th, 2024. The event, targeted towards 2nd-year ECE students, aimed to provide hands-on experience in the intersection of Web Development and the Internet of Things (IoT). Participants worked on building innovative web applications interfacing with IoT devices, gaining valuable skills in real-time web technologies, IoT integration, and collaborative problem-solving. This hackathon provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage with emerging technologies and enhance their development and programming expertise.

36-Hour Hackathon at Malineni Lakshmaiah Women’s Engineering College
Malineni Lakshmaiah Women’s Engineering College recently hosted an exhilarating 36-hour hackathon, specially designed for second-year students. This event provided an exceptional platform for budding tech enthusiasts to dive into the world of web development and problem-solving.
Over the course of the 36-hour event, participants worked intensively to create innovative solutions, collaborate in teams, and develop new skills in a competitive yet supportive environment. The hackathon allowed students to unleash their creativity and technical abilities, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and innovation.
Focused on both learning and practical application, the event encouraged students to tackle real-world challenges through technology, while building connections with mentors and peers. The excitement and energy were palpable as participants pushed their limits, testing their coding, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
By the end of the hackathon, students not only gained hands-on experience but also contributed to the growth of their personal and professional development. This event at Malineni Lakshmaiah Women’s Engineering College will undoubtedly inspire future innovation and tech-driven projects.
Biography:
Dr. Raja Sekhar Krovi is a renowned academician, researcher, and entrepreneur with a profound impact on the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as the Principal Investigator/Coordinator for the TIDE 2.0 scheme under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, Dr. Krovi leads a project worth 1.7 Crores (first-year installment released in 2019). His expertise extends to other prestigious initiatives, including the DST TBI (Technology Business Incubator) project, which is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) with a proposed value of 10.97 Crores, and the ACIC (Atal Community Innovation Centre) by NITI Aayog, with a fund of 6.5 Crores.
Dr. Krovi has also made significant contributions as the Co-Principal Investigator for the FIST Project, which established a "Hybrid Networking" Lab funded by DST with a value of 45 Lakhs in 2013. Recognizing his profound influence on the entrepreneurial landscape, he was selected as a Mentor for Change under the Mentor India Scheme initiated by NITI Aayog, Government of India.
With a deep passion for entrepreneurship, Dr. Krovi has played a pivotal role in shaping academic curricula. He designed and implemented the MBA in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Development (IEV) program in 2019, with an intake of 30 students. He is currently in the process of designing a specialized MBA course titled "Entrepreneurial Ecosystem", which is unique in the Indian academic context. His efforts also include initiating a specialized stream of entrepreneurship courses for engineering students, aiming to bridge the gap between technical education and entrepreneurial skills.
Dr. Krovi’s entrepreneurial achievements are truly remarkable. He has successfully established 40 startup companies within a span of just four years, serving as a mentor to these ventures and helping them gain recognition through Startup India and DIPP schemes. His contributions to the startup ecosystem include introducing innovative initiatives like Make-in-KLU, Design Competitions, and Women Entrepreneurship programs.
An active organizer, Dr. Krovi has conducted over 70 events, workshops, and startup-related programs in the past few years, creating a robust platform for aspiring entrepreneurs. Notably, he founded the Start-Up Rendezvous, a national-level annual startup festival at KLU Campus, which has been held since 2015.
As part of his ongoing commitment to fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, Dr. Krovi was instrumental in finalizing the KLU CIIE Policy document, which integrates various academic benefits into the entrepreneurial framework. He has also served as a Jury member for the Smart India Hackathon 2018 at BHU, Varanasi, and participated in numerous quick starter programs, bootstrapping events, and boot camps, including those organized by the Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society (APIS).
In addition to his leadership in entrepreneurship, Dr. Krovi has led initiatives like the 4-week Entrepreneurship Development Program in collaboration with NI-MSME & DST and conducted a Two-day National Seminar on IPR and Patents in partnership with MeitY, Government of India.
With a career spanning across academia, government initiatives, and the startup ecosystem, Dr. Raja Sekhar Krovi continues to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators, making significant strides in shaping India’s entrepreneurial landscape.

Lokesh Vanka
Founder & CEO, MILATRONICS PRIVATE LIMITED
Lokesh Vanka is a visionary entrepreneur and innovator, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, India. As the founder of MILATRONICS, he established India’s first moving auto shrimp feeder manufacturing company and pioneered aquaculture pond automation in the region. A graduate of IIT Hyderabad, Lokesh has led MILATRONICS to earn significant accolades, including the prestigious 3M-Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) National Award for Young Innovators in 2021 and recognition by the Telangana state government.
In 2019, his startup was among the few selected to represent India at the "Global Husky Challenge" in Boston, USA.
