Deep Learning in Computational Pathology Applications
Advances in whole slide imaging technology and machine learning, particularly deep learning, have created new opportunities for computational pathology, which can have a significant impact on biomedical research and healthcare. Dr. Chan will present some of his current research projects related to the use of deep learning approaches for histopathology image analysis. Histopathology whole slide images come with a number of challenges, including their enormous size (>50,000 × 50,000 pixels), the large size range of structures, and the heterogeneous presentation of discerning features.
