Advances in Antenna Design: Smart Antennas and Metamaterial-Inspired Antennas
Biography:
Dr. Sudhakar Sahu is a Professor in the School of Electronics Engineering at KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, India, and currently serves as the Founder and Chair of the IEEE AP/MTT Bhubaneswar Chapter under the IEEE Bhubaneswar Section. He earned his ME degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, West Bengal, and his PhD (Engineering) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. With a prolific academic and research career, Dr. Sahu has authored and co-authored over 60 articles published in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. He has successfully supervised four doctoral theses and led two significant Government of India-funded projects, one supported by AICTE, New Delhi, and another by BRNS-DAE, Mumbai.
Dr. Sahu's research interests include dielectric resonator-based MIMO antennas for cognitive radios, ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas, microstrip filters, metamaterial/metasurface-based microwave components, and the application of soft computing techniques in engineering. His contributions to these domains have established him as a leading researcher in antennas and microwave technologies. A Senior Member of IEEE’s Antennas and Propagation (AP) and Microwave Theory and Techniques (MTT) Societies, he is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (IE), India, a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, and a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi.

Innovative Applications of Microwave Technology: Sensors and Absorbers
Biography:

Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Panda is an Associate Professor in the School of Electronics Engineering at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He received his B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar in 1999, followed by an M.E. degree in Communication Engineering from BITS Pilani in 2001. He completed his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati in October 2012.
Dr. Panda's professional journey includes serving as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) on a BRNS, DAE-funded project titled “Development of Preforms from High Power Fiber Lasers” at the Department of Physics and Meteorology, IIT Kharagpur, from May 2002 to March 2004. He has also held academic positions at Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology (DIATM), West Bengal, and the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), Berhampur, Odisha. Since 2012, he has been associated with KIIT University, where he served as an Assistant Professor before being promoted to Associate Professor.
His research interests lie in microwave engineering, planar antennas for wireless communication, and more recently, adaptive and array signal processing. Dr. Panda’s contributions in these fields underscore his expertise and commitment to advancing antenna and communication technologies.

Mastering Research and Publication: Paper Writing, AI Tools, and Review Processes
Biography:
Arunya Paul is an IEEE Student Member and a final-year B.Tech student in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications at the School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. His research interests span a broad spectrum, including Antennas, RF & Microwave, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Embedded Systems, Communication Technologies, and VLSI Design.
Arunya’s academic journey is distinguished by numerous achievements, including winning the Ideation Award for his poster presentation and securing the 2nd prize in the Model Presentation category during the Annual 2024 "Kreativity" Project Expo at KIIT University. He has gained valuable industrial experience through prestigious internships at Tata and Intel. A prolific researcher, Arunya has published two conference papers and one journal paper, with eight additional works either accepted or under publication in reputed IEEE and Springer conferences and journals. His innovative mindset is further highlighted by two patentable projects currently in progress. Additionally, he served as the Student Head for the IEEE 4th AESPC International Conference hosted by KIIT University.
Arunya is a recognized student leader, serving as the Founding Chairperson of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) Student Branch Chapter and the Chair of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Student Branch Chapter at KIIT University. He also contributes actively as a DAT Member of IEEE MTT-S within IEEE Region 10.
