400GE Adoption & Insights to New Standards and Emerging Form Factors
Abstract:
The IEEE is targeting to release the 400Gigabit Ethernet (400GE) specification this year. Many new concepts [not found / implemented previously] have been adopted by the IEEE to realize this new Ethernet speed. Additionally, there are emerging form factors competing for the hyper scale data center business. In depth discussion on both the standards & industry “what you must know” about 400GE by Ixia, the first and only company to successfully implement PAM4 based 400GE line rate traffic.

Biography:
Thananya Baldwin is the Senior Director for Strategic Programs with Ixia’s advanced technology group, Ixia Labs. In this role, she has led ground-breaking programs enabling Ixia to introduce the world’s first 25GE, 40GE, 50GE, 100GE and 400GE test systems. And most recently, under her leadership, Ixia unveiled the world’s first 50G PAM4 electrical lanes based Ethernet ports in early 2017. While running many of Ixia’s leading edge programs, Thananya actively participates in the IEEE 802.3 Higher Speed Ethernet standard bodies and Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) projects. She has been with Ixia since 2001. She received her BS in engineering from Cal State Northridge in 1992, and MBA from Pepperdine in 2000.
