The IEEE Student Branch at Mangalam College of Engineering in collaboration with the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department of MLMCE organized an expert talk on “Innovate, Collaborate, Dominate - B.Tech Hackathon Essentials” on 26th October 2024. The session was conducted by Mr. Shajahan C M, an industry expert with vast experience in guiding students through hackathons and innovation challenges.

Objective of the Event:

The primary aim of the expert talk was to provide students with essential knowledge and strategies required to excel in B.Tech hackathons. The session aimed to:

• Introduce students to the significance of innovation and collaboration in hackathons.

• Provide insights into problem-solving methodologies and team dynamics.

• Discuss best practices for pitching ideas and executing projects within hackathon constraints.

Session Highlights:

• Understanding Hackathons: The session started with an introduction to hackathons, their structure, and key components that lead to success.

• Building an Effective Team: Mr. Shajahan C M emphasized the importance of teamwork, leadership, and diverse skill sets in hackathons.

• Idea Generation & Problem Solving: The speaker provided guidance on brainstorming ideas, identifying real-world problems, and designing viable solutions.

• Technical and Business Aspects: Key technical aspects, prototype development, and pitching ideas with a business perspective were discussed.

• Interactive Q&A Session: The session concluded with a dynamic question-and-answer segment, where students gained valuable insights into hackathon preparation.
