UAV/DRONE OPERATOR TRAINING
THIS COURSE RUNS FOR 6 SESSIONS: SATURDAYS 9/16, 9/30, 10/14, 10/28, 11/11, 11/18/17, 9AM – 4PM EACH DAY.
Drone operations are becoming more commonplace in society. Any adult may purchase a drone for hobby operation, and may choose to pursue licensing for commercial operation. The FAA has recently issued updated rules for drone registration, pilot licensure, and operation. However, many users and technologists are unaware of these regulations and are not following them. There are also safety and licensing concerns with drone operation that are not known or understood by the average citizen.
The purpose of this course is to prepare the public to be knowledgeable users of drone technology through the implementation of a safety and licensing preparation course.
Learning Objectives
The course will provide attendees with:
1) Drone operator training
2) FAA rules training
3) Drone operator license preparation
4) Overview of drone technology and commercial applications
5) Hands-on practical drone flight and photography training
The course will NOT include the licensing exam, as that is a regulated exam that must be completed at an approved testing facility. However, it will be a viable licensing preparation course and will include a practice exam. Course participants will receive IEEE-certified CEU credits.
