Agenda
Amtrak, in partnership with MARC Train and Virginia Railway Express, is undertaking a major renovation of the passenger boarding area (also known as the Claytor Concourse) at Washington Union Station. David Zaidain will provide an overview of this project, which includes a full remodeling and renovation of the passenger waiting and boarding areas, a new Club Acela, and overall modernization of the concourse to meet the needs of the 21st century and beyond. His presentation will include “before and after” comparisons and lots of information about the logistics of this major undertaking.

David Zaidain joined Amtrak as Project Director for the Union Station Master Plan in July 2013. He has held positions as Urban Planner for the National Capital Planning Commission, Project Manager for Skidmore Owings & Merrill, and a return engagement with the National Capital Planning Commission as Senior Urban Planner. He earned BS and MS degrees in Community Planning at the University of Cincinnati and an MS in Real Estate Development from the Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School.
