1. Event Overview
The ABESEC IEEE Student Branch (STB-04661) successfully organized the Recruitment Drive 2025 to onboard new team members for the upcoming academic year. The event aimed to identify enthusiastic and talented students passionate about technology, IEEE initiatives, and leadership. The recruitment process was open to 1st and 2nd-year students from various engineering disciplines.
2. Objectives
Expand the IEEE Student Branch by recruiting motivated members.
Provide students with opportunities to engage in IEEE activities and initiatives.
Encourage young engineers to explore emerging technologies like Edge Computing, Machine Learning, IoT, AI, Blockchain, and Software Engineering.
Offer 100% IEEE Membership Scholarship to the top-performing students.
3. Event Structure
Round 1: Online Quiz
📅 Date: 29th December 2024 (Sunday)
🕖 Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Mode: Online (Google Forms)
🔹 Participants answered MCQs covering IEEE knowledge, general technology trends, and logical reasoning.
🔹 The top performers were shortlisted for the final round.
Round 2: Personal Interview
📅 Date: 30th December 2024 (Monday)
🕟 Time: 4:30 PM onwards
📍 Mode: Offline (Venue: Departmental Library)
🔹 Candidates faced an interactive technical and leadership assessment conducted by IEEE Student Branch senior members and faculty coordinators.
4. Participation & Results
Total Registrations: 61
Participants in Round 1: 61
Shortlisted for Round 2: 35
Final Selected Members: 12
Top 12 students were awarded a 100% IEEE Membership Scholarship (worth $14).
5. Key Outcomes
Successfully onboarded new IEEE Student Branch members for 2025.
Enhanced awareness about IEEE and its impact on student careers.
Identified future leaders who will contribute to IEEE initiatives, technical workshops, and research projects.
