Ghostech was a five-day technical activity organized by IEEE BUB SB at the Benha Public Library, held from September 3 to September 7, 2023. The event attracted 180 attendees, including 50 IEEE members, and aimed to bridge the gap between hardware development and artificial intelligence through an innovative, narrative-driven learning approach.

Event Overview and Concept

Ghostech combined education and storytelling by involving participants in a narrative about Escapade, a ghost whose story unfolded as they progressed through tech challenges. This unique approach gamified the learning experience, keeping participants engaged and enhancing creativity.

The event focused on:

  • Arduino Programming
  • Machine Learning
  • Computer Vision

Participants gained hands-on experience by building a gesture-controlled car. This was not just a technical project but also an immersive journey to "liberate the ghost from a magical world," merging technology with a captivating story.

Goals and Objectives

Ghostech aimed to achieve:

  • Skill Development: Teaching Arduino, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision to build a gesture-controlled car.
  • Teamwork: Encouraging collaboration through a story-driven challenge.
  • Competition: Creating a competitive environment to inspire participants.
  • Community Building: Connecting tech enthusiasts, mentors, and industry experts.

Educational Empowerment and Skill Development

The event equipped participants with both fundamental and advanced knowledge in:

  • Hardware programming
  • Sensor integration
  • Gesture recognition systems

The approach was hands-on, blending theory with practice through step-by-step modules. It fostered teamwork and collaborative innovation in a highly interactive workshop environment.
