ππππ 4.0 ππ¨π¨ππππ¦π© :Workshop 3: Introduction to NLP
This workshop is about an introduction to Natural Language Processing (NLP), covering both theory and practice. NLP, a subset of AI, enables machines to understand and analyze human language, facilitating tasks like text summarization, sentiment analysis, and chatbot interactions. Key concepts included feature engineering techniques such as TF-IDF and word embeddings ( Word2Vec, BERT), as well as text preprocessing steps like tokenization, stemming, and stop word removal. The workshop also explored text similarity methods, Named Entity Recognition (NER), and applications like machine translation and speech recognition.
A practical session using a Google Colab notebook (NLP_preprocessing.ipynb - Colab) allowed participants to apply these concepts hands-on, reinforcing their understanding of text preprocessing, feature extraction, and model implementation.
Overall, the workshop provided a balanced mix of foundational knowledge and practical experience in NLP.
