"Traffic light of a street with a pedestrian crossing."
Objective:
Build an automated traffic light for vehicles that allows pedestrian crossing through the activation of a button, using an Arduino Uno and basic electronic components.
Required Materials:
-
2 red LEDs
-
1 yellow LED
-
2 green LEDs
-
5 resistors of 220Ω
-
1 resistor of 1KΩ
-
1 Arduino Uno
-
1 push button
-
1 breadboard
-
1 9V battery
-
1 9V battery clip with Jack
-
Connection wires
Activity Development:
a) Introduction:
A brief explanation will be given about the components to be used and how they should be connected.
b) Circuit Assembly:
-
A sheet with information about the components and how to connect them will be provided.
-
Students should follow the image to make the connection.
-
Once the assembly is complete, the circuit will be reviewed and powered with the 9V battery.
c) Arduino Programming:
-
The program will be preloaded onto the Arduino Uno.
d) Testing and Adjustments:
-
Verify the operation of the circuit and the code.
-
Conduct tests with different traffic light timing changes.
Evaluation:
-
It will be assessed whether the circuit is correctly assembled.
-
The proper functioning of the traffic light in its normal cycle and with button activation will be verified.
-
Participants' understanding of the logic behind the Arduino code will be analyzed.
Conclusion:
A reflection will be made on the learning obtained from the activity.
Estimated Time:
Approximately 60 minutes.
