Oil Spills in Pakistan’s Exclusive Economic Zone: How remote sensing is helping us monitor marine pollution?
The IEEE GRSS Lahore Chapter co-hosted a technical seminar at the Horizons of Information Technology and Engineering 2024 (HITE-2024) conference, bringing together experts and researchers to discuss advancements in geospatial technologies. The seminar featured an insightful talk by Dr. M. Adnan Siddique on "Oil Spills in Pakistan’s Exclusive Economic Zone: How Remote Sensing is Helping Us Monitor Marine Pollution?" He highlighted the critical role of satellite imagery and remote sensing techniques in detecting, tracking, and assessing the environmental impact of oil spills in Pakistan's coastal waters. The session was attended by 15 IEEE members, who engaged in discussions on leveraging geospatial technologies for marine conservation and environmental monitoring
