Improved Genetic Algorithms for Channel Allocation in Mobile Computing
Improved GA for Channel Allocation in Mobile Computing
by Prof. Deo Prakash Vidyarthi, SM IEEE and Professor in the School of Computer & Systems Sciences
Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi
Genetic algorithm is a meta-heuristics, often used to solve a computationally complex problems. It has been observed that if a problem specific knowledge is incorporated in GA, it converges little faster besides offering better results. Improved GA (IGA) is one such approach that applies nature based phenomena to GA for solving such problems. Channel Allocation is one such computationally complex problem, in which the spectrum are scarce resources and users are infinitely more. IGA has been applied to this channel allocation problem for better allocation
