The event "Lab to Impact: Advancing SDGs Together" was successfully conducted on 5th February 2025 at Sri Sai Ram Engineering College, organized by the IEEE Reliability Society. The session focused on fostering discussions about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their practical implementation in engineering and technology.

The event began with a welcome address, emphasizing the importance of sustainable development and the role of young innovators in shaping a better future. Dr. A. Naresh Kumar, IEEE RS Captain, introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Nixon from TechKnots Academy, highlighting his contributions to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry applications. A felicitation ceremony was conducted, where Dr. A. Naresh Kumar honored Mr. Nixon with a shawl and a memento as a token of appreciation for his valuable insights and contributions to sustainable innovation.

During his session, Mr. Nixon spoke about the importance of research and innovation in achieving SDGs, emphasizing the role of technology and engineering in creating impactful solutions. He shared case studies and real-world applications of SDG-focused projects and discussed how TechKnots Academy provides students with hands-on training and project development guidance. He encouraged students to take initiative in problem-solving, entrepreneurship, and sustainability-driven projects. An interactive Q&A session followed, where students asked thought-provoking questions about sustainable innovation, industry expectations, and career opportunities in SDG-focused technologies. Mr. Nixon provided practical insights and motivated students to pursue research in IoT, AI, and other sustainable technologies.

The session concluded with a feedback session, where students expressed that the event was highly insightful and industry-oriented. Many appreciated the focus on IoT applications in sustainability and the guidance on industry expectations. Dr. T. Sathya, HOD (CSBS), delivered a vote of thanks, acknowledging the guest speaker, faculty members, IEEE student coordinators, and participants for making the event a success. Overall, the event inspired students to explore innovation, research, and interdisciplinary learning to contribute to sustainable development. It successfully highlighted the practical impact of technology in addressing global challenges aligned with the United Nations SDGs.
