This presentation will cover the fundamentals of Bus Duct.  A review of different wiring methods and how they bus duct compares to other systems for power distribution.  We will look at the different types of bus duct such as Segregated Phase Bus Ducts, and Non-Segregated Phase Bus Ducts and their construction.  Applications and their use.  We will discuss the NEC, IEEE and other standards that cover bus duct.   Discussion on UL and what testing is done on bus duct.  We will review common installation practices of bus duct.  A review of Bus Plugs and plug in feeders. 

Biography:

Robert Sorbet has been in the electrical industry for over 40 years.  He started working electrical construction 1980’s.  In 1988 he started work with Brown & Root in the petro/chem industry.  Working in various capacities in the field (domestic and international )and the engineering office in Houston.  In 2004, he switched to the distributor/manufacture side of the electrical industry with a posting to Dubai for WESCO.  He is currently the owner a manufacture rep firm.  Robert received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Construction and an Associate of Business Studies Degree in Business Administration from Delgado Community College in New Orleans.
