Outreach program to all-girls schools SMK Tarcisian Convent
An outreach program has been conducted at SMK Tarcisian Convent targeted at Form 5 Science students taking Physics. This program is about putting the fun into electrical and electronic engineering, in which students will work on a project using digital logics and microcontroller.
Main Objectives of activity:
- To create awareness and a positive image of a career in electrical and electronic engineering through public lectures and fun hands-on activities involving digital circuits.
- To create and foster opportunities for pre-university/ secondary-school students to engage with instructors from the science and engineering background through a series of interesting topics in relation to women in engineering and women empowerment via education.
- To inspire and encourage female students to take up engineering as a profession and to share with them on the job opportunities, career prospects, etc to drive the passion in STEM education
The planned activities of this program are the pre-survey on students' expectation and knowledge about IEEE, video presentation on the diverse roles of electrical and electronic engineers, hands-on activity on cake mania and finally post-survey on the activity.
