From Ashes to Opportunities: Ashcor and the Power of Reclaimed Resources
This is a joint meeting of Canadian Society of Senior Engineers and IEEE Life Members Affinity Groups.
This series of presentations has been occurring for more than 20 years and is now being also advertised to the IEEE Northern Canada Section (NCS) Life Members Affinity Group (LMAG) through vTools and other IEEE LMAG's and IEEE members depending upon the topic. At the same time the Canadian Society of Senior Engineers (CSSE) is using their national organization to provide information, the subject and speaker to members across Canada.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The meeting will open at 12:30 pm MDT (2:30pm Eastern), with the presentation starting at 12:45 (2:45 pm EDT). The meeting will be held via the Zoom platform, with the actual invitations sent the afternoon of Wednesday, March 19. Bios: Mr. Kelly Babichuk, Vice President and General Manager of Ashcor, is focused on Ashcor’s business growth. Kelly has over 25 years' experience in leadership positions in cement, concrete, aggregates, and supplementary cementing materials businesses, both with multi-national cement companies and start-ups. Kelly has launched numerous construction materials products over the years and has been recognized by the industry as a passionate construction materials innovator. He is a civil engineer and holds a Master’s in Business Administration degree.
Ms. Nancy Shenouda is a senior marketing and communications professional with over 15 years of experience in the energy and construction sector. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business and has a strong background in communications and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining Ashcor, Nancy led the marketing and communications department for a Toronto based underground mining contractor, with operations in Canada, the USA and throughout Latin America. Before that, Nancy spent four years at Plains Midstream Canada in Stakeholder Relations and Communications, with a role that encompassed internal and external communications, media relations and crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement for major pipeline projects and facility expansions. Nancy plays a key role in identifying business development opportunities for Ashcor and strategically growing the Ashcor brand.
