Biography:
Candace Suriano is a graduate of GMI Engineering & Management Institute (BSME) and has graduate degrees from Purdue University (MSME, MSE) and the University of Dayton (Ph.D.). She is the author of numerous papers on electromagnetic compatibility and chaired an antennas and probes workshop at several IEEE EMC symposia. Her interests are in the areas of electromagnetic compatibility and electromagnetic modeling. Candace is a mom with interests in MOM.
John Suriano is a graduate of GMI Engineering & Management Institute (BSEE) and has graduate degrees from Purdue University (MSME, Ph.D.). He supervises an EMC laboratory for Nidec Motors and Actuators in Auburn Hills, Michigan. He has interests in electric motors and electromagnetic modeling.

Come join us at Bosch for a Maker event October 19, 2017, 5:30pm to 7:30pm! We plan to make antennas.
CAN YOU WIN THE IEEE SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN EMC SOCIETY MAKER CHALLENGE? FOUR GROUPS WILL COMPETE TO BUILD THE BEST SENSING ANTENNA FROM A BOX OF PARTS AND DUCT TAPE! BASIC ANTENNA THEORY WILL BE PRESENTED ALONG WITH THE DESIGN CRITERIA (TARGET FREQUENCIES). ANTENNAS WILL BE JUDGED BASED ON HIGHEST RMS SIGNAL STRENGTH AT TARGET FREQUENCIES. WINNERS WILL GET A PRIZE AND GET THEIR PICTURE IN THE NEWSLETTER!!
Candace and John Suriano who have a bevy of RF toys they have made, ask you to join the SEM EMC Society at Bosch in an enjoyable and profitable evening of instruction.
Use the visitor parking lot near the main entrance. The conference room in just off the lobby. Go behind the guard desk and the conference room entrance is on the left side of the hallway.
