Agenda
Antenna & Cable Measurements with Vector Network Analyzers (VNA)
A review of measurement techniques and advance EMC test equipment
Cable Measurement:
What can we measure with a VNA?
What do the measurements tell us about the cabling system?
What is the impact of a bad measurement?
How do we interpret measurements from one end of the coax?
Side Bar - What is Characteristic Impedance?
What is Time Domain Measurement and how is it useful?
How do you make this measurement on the VNA?
Demonstration of Cable measurement, IL, RL, Time Domain
Antenna Measurement:
How do we set up an Antenna measurement?
Do we use RL or VSWR? How are they related?
What does the measurement tell us?
Does the effect of the cable impact the Antenna measurement?
What is a good strategy for Preventative Maintenance?
How do I measure a “Hot” antenna?
