IEEE Queensland Section 2017 Annual General Meeting and Dinner


IEEE Queensland Section's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday 14 November 2017. The Section Committee cordially invites you to join us for this event. The AGM and Dinner will be a great way for you to meet with colleagues and network with other guests.


Cost of AGM: None

Cost for Dinner (includes drinks and a three course meal):

IEEE student members: $45

IEEE/Engineers Australia/IET members: $65

Non-members: $110

To facilitate better planning of the event there will be no 'pay at the door' option. Instead, payments for the dinner should be made to the Section's bank account by close of business 7th of November. Please send a copy of payment receipt to

Dr Shane Arnott

Dr Shane Arnott of Phantom Works International, Boeing Defence, Space & Security

As Director of Phantom Works International, Dr Shane Arnott is responsible for the Phantom Works international presence in Australia, the United Kingdom, Korea, India, and Saudi Arabia. The Phantom Works mission is to engage customers to understand their needs, and the development of resulting prototypes of new products and systems.
Prior to his current position, Arnott was Chief Engineer for Strategic Development and Experimentation, which involved oversight of the technology portfolio and provision of execution assurance on major programs. He previously held management positions developing and leading international teams in both civil and defence aerospace domains.
As a Senior Technical Fellow with Boeing, he is recognized as being within the top 0.1 per cent of Boeing engineers, and is the international spokesperson for the fellowship.
Arnott has been with the company since 1997. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (First Class) and a PhD in Systems Engineering.
